John spent his career building one of the leading hospitality groups in Australia, as Founder and CEO of Urban Purveyor Group.

Employing over 1,500 people across 21 bars and restaurants, a bespoke beverage import business and a commissary kitchen, his venues have consistently won restaurant of the year and held hats (the Australian version of the Michelin star) as he has shaped the future of hospitality in Australia. The group was sold to private equity in 2015.

Now an investor in food-tech, hi-tech and sustainable innovation, John has founded Quasar Hospitality to bring new innovations and unique concepts in a time of increasingly rapid disruption.

After working as Culinary Director for STARR Restaurant Group in Philadelphia, Martin joined the senior leadership team of Urban Purveyor Group in Australia. After overseeing the rapid growth of the business and acquisition by Private Equity in 2015, Martin helped shape further acquisitions and rebranding as Rockpool Dining Group.

In 2017 he returned to America as sbe Groups first Chief Culinary Officer, overseeing both sbe and its subsidiary Disruptive Restaurant Group's strategy across more than 112 venues globally, including 26 Umami Burgers.

With broad experience spanning from Fine Dining and Fast Casual, Martin is a founding member of Quasar Hospitality.
