Employing over 1,500 people across 21 bars and restaurants, a bespoke beverage import business and a commissary kitchen, his venues have consistently won restaurant of the year and held hats (the Australian version of the Michelin star) as he has shaped the future of hospitality in Australia. The group was sold to private equity in 2015.
Now an investor in food-tech, hi-tech and sustainable innovation, John has founded Quasar Hospitality to bring new innovations and unique concepts in a time of increasingly rapid disruption.
